Nick Pearce

Nick Pearce is one of the UK’s leading policy professionals with unrivalled and high-level experience of policy research and government policymaking. He has around 25 years’ strategic policy experience at the heart of government and politics. He was Head of the No. 10 Policy Unit between 2008 and 2010, with responsibility for the formulation of policy advice to the UK Prime Minister on all domestic and international affairs. He was also Director of the Institute for Public Policy Research (IPPR), a leading UK think tank, for a combined total of eight years, where he led a team of 45 staff producing influential public policy research in the key areas of public services, economic reform, the welfare state, migration, energy and politics. He is now a Professor of Public Policy at the University of Bath where he heads the Institute for Policy Research.
