Dan Corry is an experienced consultant and leader with a distinguished career in public policy, economic consulting, and nonprofit management. Dan is part of Kivu’s team supporting State House in Zambia on jobs and labour market policy. He is also the Chief Economist at the Future Governance Forum (FGF), and recently led a review of environmental regulation for the Secretary of State at Defra.
From 2007 to 2010, Dan was the Head of the Policy Unit and Senior Economic Advisor to the Prime Minister. He also served as the Chair of the Council of Economic Advisors at HM Treasury, and as a Special Advisor to the Secretary of State at the Department of Trade and Industry 1997-2001, Department of Transport. Local Government and the Regions 2001- 02, Department for Education and Skills from 2005 to 2006 and at the Department for Communities, Local Government and the Regions in 2006.
He has also led several think tanks including being Chief Executive of New Philanthropy Capital (NPC), a think tank and consultancy for the social sector, and being Director of the New Local Government Network (now known as New Local) from 2002 to 2005, during which time the think tank was named Think Tank of the Year. In 2010 he helped draft a manifesto for one of the presidential candidates in Nigeria.
Dan is currently the Chair of the Carers Trust charity and a trustee of St Mungo’s homelessness charity. He is a former trustee of the What Works Centre for Wellbeing and a former member of the ESRC Research Committee.
